Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Bankwala completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia, then came to the twin cities as a Cardiologist at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center. He held an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota from 1994-1998. He has been in private practice at Metropolitan Cardiology Consultants since 1998. Dr. Bankwala sees general cardiology patients and has a particular interest in high risk and complex angioplasty.
He is also interested in exercise and cholesterol management as ways to prevent and treat heart disease. He can be found testing his ideas on exercise on various bike paths around the twin cities. Computers in Medicine are another interest, and he looks forward to the day when all medical facilities have an effective electronic medical record.

He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital, his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Southern California, and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.
