Stephen Hustead, D.O., F.A.C.C.
Electrophysiology
Dr. Hustead completed his cardiology fellowship in 1986, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was in academic practice for nearly four years as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Docent at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, before joining Metropolitan Cardiology Consultants in early 1990. He sees patients primarily with heart rhythm disturbances. He implants pacemakers, internal cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD's), and does specialized electrical testing of the heart (electrophysiologic testing). He, also, treats arrhythmias with radiofrequency catheter ablation, often a curative technique. He is experienced in advanced mapping techniques, including use of newer 3D non-contact mapping systems. He is especially interested in non-pharmacologic treatments of atrial fibrillation.
